May 2 - 4, 2003

To revitalize Jewish GLBT organizations, in particular in Europe.
This can (hopefully) be achieved through a Leadership Training Seminar open to all Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) Jews, but with a focus on European current and future leaders of GLBT Jewish groups.

Target audience: Present and future leaders of the European GLBT Jewish groups. These individuals will be identified by a sub- committee of the World Congress. They will have to commit to be leaders in their own groups for a minimum of two years after the seminar.
However, anybody interested in developing leadership skills in a Jewish/Israeli GLBT environment is welcome.

Date and location: May 2 – 4, 2003 in Paris, France
These dates may be combined with a vacation since May 1 is a public holiday in France (and in most countries) and May 7 is Yom Ha'atsma'ut (Israel Independence Day).

Program: The program starts on Friday, May 2, 2003 with the registration to the conference. In the following days, there will be a mixture of »serious« activities (Leadership seminar moderated by 5 individuals coming from different Jewish/Israeli GLBT backgrounds) and social events (party with Beit Haverim - the French GLBT Jewish group - , various dinners and lunches, Shabbat service in a GLBT-friendly liberal synagogue, visit of GLBT Paris etc.). The weekend ends on Sunday, May 4, 2003 at 19h.

Accomodation: Beit Haverim will offer home hospitality. However, there is no guarantee that there will be enough places available for everybody. Please contact us early! Otherwise, help will be provided to find suitable hotels.

Cost: The European participants who are or intend to be leaders of their GLBT Jewish groups will receive a free return train ticket from their place to Paris. Besides, they will be asked to :
     - pay a symbolic fee of 20€ to attend the conference,
     - to contribute to the Shabat dinner at the restaurant and
the two lunches with a symbolic amount of 30 €.
Therefore, these participants will pay 50 € each.

The other participants are expected to pay for their travel to Paris, the full registration fee for the seminar (50 €) as well as the full cost of the three meals (about 50 €/person for the three meals). Therefore, the other participants are expected to pay
100 €/person, on top of their travel expenses.
